Andy Serkis has fundamentally changed how audiences experience digital characters. His performance as Gollum is widely considered one of the greatest in cinema history, earning a spot on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest movie performances. He has won over 20 major awards for his motion-capture work, including three Critics' Choice Movie Awards and two MTV Movie Awards. The BAFTA recognized his overall contribution to film with its Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award in 2020.
