Amazonas Futebol Clube

Amazonas Futebol Clube operates out of Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state in northern Brazil. Founded on May 23, 2019, the club emerged from a collective effort by former administrators of local teams who wanted to establish a professional entity capable of competing nationally. The project aimed to fill a void in the region's football landscape where no previous club had successfully sustained a national presence.

The organization achieved rapid success within its first few years. In 2023, the team secured the Campeonato Amazonense title and followed that victory with a win in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. This double accomplishment marked the first time a club from the state won a Brazilian national competition. The achievement elevated the club's status significantly within the country's football hierarchy.

Following their promotion to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B for the 2024 season, the team faced a difficult campaign in 2025 that resulted in relegation back to the third tier for 2026. Despite these fluctuations in league standing, the club maintains operations under the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) model led by President Wesley Couto. Established in the Zona Leste district of Manaus, Amazonas FC began its journey by participating in the Campeonato Amazonense while building its infrastructure. The turning point arrived in 2023 when the squad captured both the state championship and the national Série C title. That Série C victory remains a unique milestone for Amazonian football history. The club celebrated the feat as a singular achievement for the region, distinguishing itself as the only team from Amazonas to win a national tournament.

After spending the 2024 season in the second division, the team struggled during the 2025 campaign and was relegated to the third tier for 2026. Financial pressures have required leadership to defend the SAF structure against debt concerns. In January 2025, the club expanded its international profile by partnering with Forward Madison FC of the USL League One, which included a loan agreement for a forward player.
