Alona's proudest achievement is the 2008 Australian Open doubles title, a historic first for Ukrainian tennis. She and her sister Kateryna became the first sisters to win a Grand Slam doubles title since the Williams sisters. Her career-high rankings of No. 19 in singles and No. 11 in doubles reflect her consistency at the top level. She also represented Ukraine at the 2008 Olympics.
