Alfa Romeo
Italy"Italian performance and style since 1910"
About
Alfa Romeo has been turning heads since June 24, 1910, when it was founded in Milan as A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili). The first car, the 24 HP, designed by Giuseppe Merosi, quickly proved itself both in showrooms and on the Targa Florio race course. That early racing pedigree set the tone for a brand that would become synonymous with Italian passion and performance.
Nicola Romeo took over in 1915, expanding into heavy machinery and aircraft engines, and the company was renamed Alfa Romeo in 1920. Throughout the 1920s, the marque dominated European motorsport, winning the inaugural World Manufacturers' Championship in 1925. Financial troubles led to government control in 1933, and after World War II, Alfa shifted toward mass production of smaller cars, launching the beloved Giulietta series in 1954. By the 1970s, mounting losses forced a sale to the Fiat Group in 1986, and the brand later became part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and then Stellantis in 2021.
Today, Alfa Romeo operates under Stellantis, one of the world's largest automotive groups, and remains a fixture in the premium performance segment. Its lineup includes the Giulia sedan, the Stelvio SUV, and the compact Tonale, all carrying that unmistakable Italian flair. The brand's racing heritage also gave birth to Enzo Ferrari's Scuderia Ferrari, which began as an Alfa Romeo racing team, cementing a legacy that still resonates.
