Vinokourov's career is defined by his Olympic gold, a Grand Tour title, and two victories in one of cycling's toughest monuments. He is one of the few riders to have won both a Grand Tour and a major classic, and his aggressive style earned him a devoted following. His ability to attack on descents and in crosswinds made him a constant threat, and his 2012 Olympic win was a fitting capstone to a career that overcame setbacks and controversy.
