Records
Alexander Stubb's career is marked by a series of historic firsts. He became Finland's 13th president in 2024, the first Swedish-speaking Finn elected to the office since Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. He is also the first Finnish president to hold a joint press conference entirely in English. His leadership in foreign affairs, particularly his advocacy for NATO membership, has been widely recognized. He has been named to TIME's 100 Next list (2024) and Politico Europe's Power 30 (2023). His academic contributions include a PhD from the London School of Economics and honorary doctorates from three universities.
