About This Album
Yeat released his debut studio album Up 2 Më on September 10, 2021. The project arrived through Interscope Records, Foundation Media, and his own label Twizzy Rich to introduce a chaotic blend of trap music and rage production. Listeners heard twelve tracks built around distorted synthesizers and heavy basslines that defined the early 2020s sound.
Adam Daniel Vasquez produced most of the record himself alongside frequent collaborator Ojivolta. Their work created a sonic landscape filled with rapid hi-hats and aggressive 808s that critics would later call the pinnacle of the rage wave. SeptembersRich provided the only guest feature on the track "Trëndy Way" while Yeat handled the high-pitched vocal delivery throughout the rest of the project.
The album initially slipped under the radar before gaining traction over time. By 2022 it entered the US Billboard 200 at number 183 and eventually climbed to a peak position of number 58. Pitchfork praised the unique inspiration behind the songs noting they built toward euphoric moments rather than simple imitation. This slow-burn success established Yeat as a defining voice in the genre without relying on traditional marketing blitzes.
