About This Album
January 16, 2026 marked the end of an era for Enhypen. The group released The Sin: Vanish, their eighth extended play through Belift Lab, as a final statement before a major shift in their lineup. Executive producer Kim guided the project into dark synth-pop and aggressive hip-hop territory, creating a narrative conclusion to their vampire concept that feels both heavy and necessary.
The album unfolds across 11 tracks, blending six songs with narration and skits to tell a sequential story rather than offering standalone hits. Lead single "Knife" drives the momentum with sharp percussion and a vocal performance described as lived-in, even dropping a wink at an old Vine meme with the lyric "It's a knife, knife, knife, knife." Heeseung shaped much of the mature tone, while Jake composed music for deeper cuts like "Sleep Tight," adding layers to the group's exploration of desire and choice.
Physical releases came in three distinct versions, FORBIDDEN, AFTERLIGHT, and STORM, each framing the central chase narrative from a different angle. The FORBIDDEN edition specifically adopts the media's perspective on the events. This immersive approach earned praise from critics who noted the album's willingness to challenge gender tropes and integrate internet culture into serious themes. Sales hit 1.6 million copies on day one, proving the band's deep connection with fans despite the looming changes ahead.
