When The Script returned with their seventh studio album, Satellites, on August 16, 2024, they carried a weight no previous record had known. It was their first full-length release since the death of founding guitarist Mark Sheehan in April 2023, a loss that threads through every track. The sessions also brought a new configuration: bassist Benjamin Sargent joined in May 2024, while lead guitarist Ben Weaver was added after recording wrapped. The result is an album that feels both like a farewell and a fresh start.

Musically, Satellites stays true to the band's signature pop rock and alternative rock sound, with soaring choruses and glossy production. But the lyrics dig deeper into grief, resilience, and the ties that hold across distance. The lead single "Both Ways" arrived in May 2024, followed by "At Your Feet" in July, just before the album dropped. A third single, "Inside Out," came in March 2025, stretching the album's life well beyond its release.

The commercial response was strong. Satellites debuted at number one on the Irish Albums Chart and hit number two on the UK Albums Chart. To bring the songs to fans, The Script launched the Satellites World Tour, which ran through 2024 and 2025. They opened for Pink on her Summer Carnival Tour in the US, then played across Europe, Australia, and Asia, showing off the new lineup and the new material to audiences everywhere. [edit]
