Petal

Petal marks the eighth studio album from Ariana Grande, arriving on July 31, 2026. The project emerged from sessions at Jungle City Studios in New York and facilities in Los Angeles and Stockholm between January and April of that year. Grande served as executive producer alongside Ilya Salmanzadeh, with Max Martin contributing to the production. She described the sound as a raw exploration of emotional territory she had previously avoided, characterizing it as "a little feral" while noting it grew through difficult circumstances.

The lead single "Hate That I Made You Love Me" dropped on May 29, 2026, securing the top spot on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. This achievement represented her tenth number-one hit in the United States. The album announcement followed a teaser campaign in March where Grande added a flower emoji to her social media profiles. It arrives during the run of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which commenced in June 2026.

Visually, the cover art presents a black-and-white close-up of Grande smiling without her signature ponytail, her brunette hair partially obscuring her face. An exclusive vinyl pressing titled "Cloudy Gray Girl" accompanied standard releases. The tracklist blends short interludes with longer pop anthems, running for 36 minutes and 8 seconds across twelve songs. Critical outlets like Vogue HK highlighted the introspective nature of the lyrics upon release. [edit]
