About This Album
At just twelve years old, North West released her debut extended play N0rth4evr on May 1, 2026. The six-track project arrived via the label Gamma and immediately established a sonic identity distinct from her parents' legacies. Critics noted the EP blends rage, emo, hyperpop, and alternative metal to navigate themes of fame, flexing, and isolation. This genre-hopping approach creates a dense soundscape that mirrors the duality of growing up in the public eye.
West handled production duties for every song on the record, honing skills developed over previous years. She collaborated with her father Kanye West on three tracks and worked with FKA Twigs on others. Prior to the full drop, she issued the solo single "Piercing on My Hand" to build momentum. The title track received an official music video upon release, followed by a visual for "Aishite (愛して)" later in the campaign.
Promotion included a two-day pop-up exhibition and a performance at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash in Chicago. A planned co-headlining tour with Molly Santana collapsed before it began, but West pivoted quickly to perform her first headlining show at The Vic Theatre. Reviews were mixed-to-positive, with publications like Rolling Stone highlighting her unique sound while others pointed out flaws in sample usage.
