    About This Album

Stevie Nicks wrote Landslide while sitting on a mountain near Boulder, Colorado, in the summer of 1974. She worried about her age and whether she belonged in the rock world alongside her bandmates who had already found success with Fleetwood Mac. The song appeared on their self-titled fifth studio album released in January 1975 under Warner Bros. Records. Critics initially overlooked the track, but it slowly grew into one of the band's most recognizable songs over the following decades.

A live version recorded during their 1997 reunion tour at Madison Square Garden brought fresh attention to the composition. Released as a single in early 1998, this performance climbed to number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top spot on the Adult Contemporary chart. The recording earned Gold certification for selling half a million copies in the United States. It later appeared on compilations like 25 Years – The Chain, cementing its place in their catalog.

Interest surged again in early 2026 when the track featured in the finale of the Netflix series Stranger Things. Streaming numbers jumped significantly after the episode aired, introducing the song to a new generation of listeners. The melody remains a staple at concerts, often serving as a quiet moment before the energy shifts back up.
