About This Album
On a spring evening in 2026, Madonna posted a photo to Instagram: herself perched on a speaker, a sheer purple veil obscuring her face, lace dress and thigh-high stockings catching the light. The image announced the cover of Confessions II, her fifteenth studio album and the first in seven years. Due July 3 on Warner Records, the record is a direct sequel to 2005's Confessions on a Dance Floor, the Grammy-winning album that revived her career and defined mid-2000s dance pop. The new project reunites Madonna with Stuart Price, the producer and co-writer behind that original album, and extends the same concept: a continuous DJ set with no gaps between tracks, 63 minutes of uninterrupted club music.
The album arrives after a turbulent period. Madonna's 2019 release Madame X divided critics and fans, and the following years brought a serious bacterial infection, the death of her brother Christopher, and a world in political upheaval. Rather than retreat into introspection, she chose to make something joyful. The result, according to early reviews, is her most focused dance record in decades. NME called it a thrilling return to the dancefloor, while The Independent declared it her best album in 20 years, praising its seamless structure and emotional range.
Guest spots include Sabrina Carpenter on the lead single Bring Your Love, which debuted during Carpenter's Coachella set in April 2026 when Madonna surprised the crowd. Colombian reggaeton star Feid appears on Read My Lips, and Belgian singer Stromae contributes to a track. Producers beyond Price include Cirkut, Tainy, Andrew Watt, Mirwais, and Arca, giving the album a broad electronic palette. The standard vinyl has 12 tracks; a deluxe 2LP edition adds three more songs and is limited to 5,000 numbered copies on clear vinyl.
