Established on September 1, 1948, Alanyaspor Kulübü began as a local amateur side in the coastal city of Alanya before evolving into a staple of Turkish professional football. The club spent decades navigating the lower tiers of the national pyramid, eventually securing a historic promotion to the Süper Lig in 2016. Since that breakthrough, they have maintained a steady presence in the top flight, often defying expectations by competing against established powerhouses from Istanbul and Ankara. Their identity is anchored by the distinctive orange and green kits adopted in 1982, which fans proudly display at the Alanya Oba Stadium.

The team reached its zenith during the 2019–20 campaign, finishing fifth in the league table and reaching the final of the Turkish Cup. Although they lost the cup match 2–0 to Trabzonspor in Istanbul, that performance secured their first-ever European qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Commercial growth has also accelerated, highlighted by a naming-rights agreement signed in June 2022 with Corendon Airlines, which officially branded the squad as Corendon Alanyaspor. That same year, they advanced to the Turkish Cup final, marking their deepest run in the competition's history. Despite falling short against Trabzonspor, the achievement qualified them for the UEFA Europa League for the 2020–21 season, introducing the club to continental competition for the first time.

Management changes have been frequent yet strategic, with figures like Erol Bulut and Çağdaş Atan guiding the team through critical developmental phases. More recently, the appointment of Italian tactician Francesco Farioli signaled a shift toward modernized tactical systems. The squad composition reflects this evolution, featuring a mix of youthful domestic talent and experienced foreign signings.
