Air Seoul

Air Seoul launched on July 11, 2016, as Asiana Airlines' second low-cost carrier, filling a gap in the Seoul market. Unlike Air Busan, which operates from Busan with a minority Asiana stake, Air Seoul is based at Incheon International Airport and fully controlled by its parent. The airline was conceived in early 2014 but delayed partly due to the aftermath of Asiana Flight 214 crash in 2013. It targets budget travelers flying to secondary Japanese cities and other Asian destinations where Asiana's mainline service is less competitive.

With a fleet of six Airbus A321-200s configured for high-density seating, Air Seoul serves 21 destinations across Japan, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The carrier employs about 482 people under CEO Seon Wang-seong. Passengers can earn miles through the Asiana Club frequent-flyer program. Online check-in and standard low-cost baggage policies round out the service. The airline has maintained a quiet public profile since its debut, with no major controversies on record. [edit]
