Aikou

Aikou is a Nigerian reality television personality and technology professional who gained national fame as a housemate in Big Brother Naija Season 11. Born in 2001 and known professionally as Aikou or Aikou Ajanaku, he entered the show in August 2026 with a career already established in the tech sector. His participation marked a significant shift from his previous life as a tech worker to a household name in Nigeria.

His journey on the show was defined by a unique twist where he served as a Gambit, a secret role that initially barred him from winning the grand prize. Despite this handicap, Aikou's authentic demeanor and strategic choice to prioritize peace over manipulation resonated with viewers. He finished the season as the First Runner-Up in October 2026, securing a spot among the top three finalists alongside Sheba and Temi Nkem. [edit]

Before stepping into the spotlight of reality television, Aikou lived a relatively private life focused on building a career in the technology industry. Reports describe him as a tech professional whose background set him apart from many other reality stars who often enter the game without a clear trade. While specific details about his childhood hometown or the exact university he attended remain unpublicized, his professional designation implies he completed higher education or specialized vocational training in a technical field.

He entered the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house with a clear objective, bringing a distinct accent that became an immediate talking point among viewers and fellow housemates. Unlike contestants who might rely solely on entertainment value, Aikou carried the weight of a working professional into the house. His pre-fame life was characterized by steady employment in the tech sector, providing him with a level of maturity and perspective that would later define his gameplay style. The transition from a tech office environment to the high-pressure dynamics of the BBNaija house was a stark contrast that few expected given his calm exterior. [edit]

Aikou's career trajectory changed dramatically in 2026 when he entered the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house in August. Shortly after his entry, on August 2, 2026, the show revealed a major plot twist: Aikou had been selected as a Gambit alongside fellow housemate Flora. This role required him to keep his identity secret while operating under different rules, specifically rendering him ineligible to win the ₦160 million grand prize. This storyline added a layer of intrigue to his time in the house as he navigated relationships without revealing his hidden status.

The narrative shifted significantly in September when Big Brother released Aikou and Flora from their Gambit roles, making them eligible to compete for the full prize once again. This development revitalized his chances and allowed him to focus fully on survival strategies. By October 2026, Aikou had demonstrated remarkable resilience, surviving multiple eviction weeks to reach the Top 3. In the finale held around October 31, 2026, he secured the position of First Runner-Up. His performance was widely praised for its authenticity, with Aikou publicly stating in an interview with Punchng that he chose peace over strategy. Following the show, he has begun engaging in philanthropic efforts, pledging support for education and welfare in Northern Nigeria. [edit]
