Ahmed Dogan

Ahmed Dogan stands as a monumental figure in Bulgarian history, having successfully organized the country's largest ethnic minority into a potent political force. His ability to navigate the treacherous waters of post-communist transition and survive a televised assassination attempt demonstrates a resilience unmatched by his peers. The creation of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms fundamentally altered the political landscape, ensuring that the voices of Turks, Pomaks, and Roma were heard in parliament for decades. His recent re-emergence with the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms Party further cements his legacy as a strategist who refuses to fade away, continuing to shape the nation's direction well into his seventh decade.
