AgniKul Cosmos

AgniKul Cosmos Private Limited is an Indian private aerospace manufacturer and commercial launch service provider headquartered at the National Centre for Combustion Research and Development (NCCRD) on the campus of IIT Madras in Chennai. The startup focuses on developing small-lift launch vehicles, notably the Agnibaan, which can carry a 100-kilogram payload to an altitude of 700 kilometers. By targeting the growing market for small satellite launches, AgniKul aims to offer cost-effective and flexible access to space.

On May 30, 2024, AgniKul achieved a major milestone with the successful launch of its first suborbital test vehicle. This mission marked several firsts: it was the world's first flight powered by a single-piece 3D-printed engine, India's first launch using a semi-cryogenic engine, and the first launch from a private launch pad in India. The company's innovative approach to engine manufacturing and its rapid progress have positioned it as a key player in the country's burgeoning private space sector.[edit]
