Haenel's career, though relatively short in film, earned her two César Awards out of seven nominations, making her one of the most recognized French actresses of her generation. Her performance in Love at First Fight swept the French critics' awards in 2015. The New York Times listed her among the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century so far in 2020.
