Acróstico

Released on 11 May 2023 through Sony Music Latin, "Acróstico" is a pop and Latin pop ballad that serves as the third single from Shakira's twelfth studio album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (2024). The song was written by Shakira, Keityn, Luis Fernando Ochoa, and L.E.X.U.Z., with production handled by Shakira and L.E.X.U.Z. Clocking in at 2:50, the track is built around a delicate piano melody and features uncredited vocals from Shakira's two young sons, Milan and Sasha, who both sing and play the piano alongside their mother in the official music video.

The lyrics of "Acróstico" function as a poetic acrostic: the initial letter of each line spells out the names of her two sons, creating an open letter about turning pain into strength through the love of her children. This deeply personal approach gave the song an intimate, vulnerable quality that contrasted with some of Shakira's more defiant releases from the same period, such as "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" and "TQG." The song's release came shortly after Shakira was named Woman of the Year at the inaugural Billboard Latin Women in Music event on 6 May 2023.

Commercially, "Acróstico" performed well across Latin America and the United States. It peaked at number 8 on the Top40-Charts.com chart and earned multiple certifications: 4× Platinum (Latin) from the RIAA in the US, 3× Platinum in both Mexico (AMPROFON) and Spain (Promusicae), Diamond + 2× Platinum + 4× Gold in Colombia, and Gold in Brazil (Pro-Música Brasil). The song also received significant critical recognition. At the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Song of the Year alongside two other Shakira songs, making her the first artist to achieve three nominations in that category at a single ceremony.
