Rooted in the heart of Tuscany, ACF Fiorentina stands as one of Italy's most storied football clubs. The team, affectionately known as "La Viola" for their distinctive purple kits, boasts a history stretching back to 1926. Though the current iteration of the club was refounded in 2002 after financial difficulties, their legacy in the top flight of Italian football, Serie A, is substantial. Only a handful of clubs can claim more seasons competing at this elite level.

Fiorentina's trophy cabinet includes two Scudetti, the Serie A championship titles won in 1956 and 1969. Their domestic success is further marked by six Coppa Italia victories and a Supercoppa Italiana. The club's European journey is equally notable, highlighted by their 1961 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup triumph. They have also been runners-up in five other major European finals, including the 1957 European Cup, making them the first Italian club to do so. Founded on August 29, 1926, ACF Fiorentina quickly established itself as a significant force in Italian football. The club secured its first Serie A title in the 1955–56 season, followed by a second championship in 1968–69. Their European debut in a major final came in 1957, reaching the European Cup final, a first for an Italian club. The following year, they captured the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1961.

The club faced a refounding in August 2002, becoming Florentia Viola before returning to the ACF Fiorentina name. Despite this setback, they have continued to compete in Serie A. Fiorentina holds six Coppa Italia titles and one Supercoppa Italiana. In recent years, the team made history by reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League final in consecutive seasons (2022–23 and 2023–24), though they were unable to secure the trophy in either appearance.
