Abdul Samad Rabiu's business achievements have earned him a place among Africa's most influential industrialists. He broke a long-standing monopoly in Nigeria's sugar industry in 2008, built the country's second-largest cement producer, and grew BUA Foods into the second-largest pasta maker. His companies are among the most valuable on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He holds Nigeria's national honors of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), as well as the highest civilian honor of Niger Republic. His philanthropic foundation, ASR Africa, has committed substantial resources to education and health infrastructure across the continent.
