Kechiche is one of the most decorated French filmmakers of his generation. He has won the César Award for Best Film twice, a rare feat, and the Palme d'Or, the highest prize at Cannes. His film The Secret of the Grain also received the Louis Delluc Prize. In 2004, he was named a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. His work has been ranked among the best of the 21st century by Sight & Sound and Cahiers du Cinéma.
