ABBA are one of the best-selling music acts of all time, with over 150 million records sold worldwide. Their compilation ABBA Gold is certified platinum over 128 times across more than 28 countries and has spent over 1,248 weeks on the UK Albums Chart, the longest run for any compilation album. The group achieved eight consecutive number-one albums in the UK, a record for a group. They are the third-best-selling singles artist in the UK, with 11.3 million singles sold. In 2023, they became the first group from a non-English-speaking country to receive the BRIT Billion Award. Their ABBA Voyage residency sold over 4 million tickets by 2026 and contributed an estimated £2 billion to the UK economy. In 2024, all four members were awarded the Royal Order of Vasa for their contributions to music.

They received four BRIT Awards: Best International Group (1977, 1982), Best International Album for Arrival (1977), and Best International Single for 'Dancing Queen' (1977). In 2023, they received the BRIT Billion Award for surpassing one billion UK streams. They won multiple Swedish Grammis and Rockbjörnen awards throughout their career. In 1981, they won an Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work for 'The Winner Takes It All.' In 1993, they won a World Music Award for World's Best-Selling Scandinavian Group. In 2022, they received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
