This isn't just any arranged marriage, though; the daughter they have in mind is Erika Amano, a popular social media influencer who is already living a glamorous life.

Miki Yoshikawa, the creator behind Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, penned and illustrated A Couple of Cuckoos. The romantic comedy manga first appeared as a standalone story in September 2019 before launching its serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2020. The series has since spawned an anime adaptation, with a second season airing in 2025. It's a story that plays with themes of identity, fate, and the often-unpredictable nature of love, all wrapped up in Yoshikawa's signature blend of humor and heartfelt moments.

The title itself is a nod to the cuckoo bird, a brood parasite that lays its eggs in other birds' nests, a direct metaphor for the switched-at-birth premise. As of 2025, the manga has released 33 collected tankōbon volumes in Japan, and the English edition, published by Kodansha Comics, began with its first volume on January 12, 2021.
