20th Century Studios

20th Century Studios is one of Hollywood's oldest and most storied film studios, today operating as a division of the Walt Disney Company. Founded in the mid-1930s through the merger of two earlier film companies and long known as Twentieth Century Fox, it stood for decades as one of the major American studios of Hollywood's golden age, producing an enormous catalog of acclaimed and commercially successful films across every genre. Over its long history the studio was responsible for some of the most influential and beloved movies and franchises in cinema, from sweeping epics and prestige dramas to enormously popular science-fiction and action series, accumulating a vast library and numerous prestigious awards. After many years as an independent major, the studio came under the ownership of a global media conglomerate before being acquired by Disney as part of a landmark deal that reshaped the entertainment industry. Following that acquisition it was rebranded under its current name, dropping the longtime Fox association, and integrated into Disney's broader studio operations, with its films distributed through Disney's theatrical arm. Despite the changes in ownership and identity, 20th Century Studios continues to produce films drawing on its rich heritage and valuable properties.
