The US Embassy in Poland is watching the Constitutional Tribunal situation closely, and its read is blunt: what's happening there is very serious According to the embassy, this looks like an unprecedented confrontation over the government's use of state power and the independence and authority of a constitutional institution. On where Washington stands, the message from USAmbPoland is that America is on Poland's side, and that judging or interfering in the country's internal affairs isn't its place. What it says it's concerned about is the stability, security and democratic future of a country it calls a proud friend and ally. The embassy adds that it's monitoring things very closely.
