    by Flint: Marco Rubio

Sec. Marco Rubio stepped up at the G20 to say we are in a critical moment, calling it a moment of choosing that matters not just for my country, the United States of America, but frankly for the world. He laid out a series of interconnected economic and geopolitical crises posing severe threats to essential foundations of the global economic order alongside new disruptions and strains on global energy and food supplies. The speaker referenced challenges addressed during the presidency of President Trump while noting specific threats including those to global supply chains, trade, and freedom of navigation. A two-day agenda covering freedom of navigation and food security was outlined with a proposal to limit individual interventions to approximately three minutes as the session proceeds alphabetically around the table. Despite the severity of the situation, Sec. Rubio expressed confidence in delivering meaningful results for citizens. #MarcoRubio

We have a lot to cover over the next two days. Briefly in terms of the modalities we're going to cover two issues in this plenary session, freedom of navigation and food security. I'll introduce the topic and turn to the next speaker. We'll go around the table. We'll do it in alphabetical order. I would ask if we can, I know these are complex and nuanced topics, but if we could limit it to three minutes or so for each intervention, because if we don't, then we will be here for a long period of time. And then I'll wrap up at the end of each topic as we move on to the next one. Thank you.
