Patrick Stewart James McAvoy Professor X conflict
The dynamic between Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy over the Professor X role took a sharp turn when Seth Meyers pointed out that Stewart doesn't seem to hold the young Charles Xavier in the same esteem as he does. Stewart admitted with an 'ugh yeah' that while he has enormous respect for James McAvoy as a brilliant actor, their history isn't exactly smooth sailing. The tension stems from a moment when McAvoy was asked how it felt stepping into the shoes of Patrick Stewart, only to reply with the threat that he would bury him.
