Jason Momoa on Drogo typecasting and Road to Paloma
by Freddenver: Khal Drogo
Jason Momoa says the industry decided he couldn't speak English just because he played Drogo. After Game of Thrones killed the character, casting calls stopped entirely instead of slowing down. He claims he and others faced starvation after the show ended while being unable to secure any employment despite being the most discussed figure on television. With two children to feed and deep debt looming, the pressure to provide became unbearable. That is why he wrote and directed his own low-budget film Road to Paloma to prove he could do something other than grunt on a horse. Then Zack Snyder casted him as Aquaman.
