Logan Paul Pikachu Illustrator sale RIPIT

    by Tufail: Logan Paul

Logan Paul sold a Pikachu Illustrator card for $16,492,000 and then immediately turned around to reinvest nearly all of those proceeds back into collectibles or businesses related to that world. He put $100,000 into Whatnot when the company was valued at $90 million, noting that they have since crossed a $20,000,000,000 valuation. When asked if that makes him rich, he admits it does but questions what to do with the cash. He says he plans to be responsible by putting money into Tesla or flying cars, obviously right? No, he just ends up buying more Pokémon cards instead. He explains that he sold his Pikachu Illustrator for $16.5M because he has a family, a wife, a new beautiful house, and a very expensive wedding where he paid way too much money, though it was a great experience for everyone to remember for the rest of their lives, so it was worth it despite being expensive. That is part of the reason he had to sell the Illustrator. Then the collecting thing in him kicked in; he saw something he had to have. Every collector knows this journey. He got obsessed and had to have this thing, going on a quest for a year to just collect the item he felt compelled to acquire. He ended up putting basically all the money earned from the Illustrator sale back into Pokémon or a business related to collecting in Pokémon, specifically mentioning Rip It. He self-funded the entire company with the money made from the Illustrator, telling himself he would not spend it on collectibles but did anyway. He has come to accept that this is a loop that he simply cannot escape.
