by Murphy Popcorn 🎪: Guitarricadelafuente
Guitarricadelafuente breaks down the dynamic between Sebastián and Rafael in LA BOLA NEGRA, noting that they recognize themselves in one another. This recognition leaves them with no other choice than to trust each other. For Sebastián specifically, it marks the first time he sees a ray of hope amidst the madness and hostility of war.

There's a big parallelism when you see all of this war context going on in the film, which is still happening today and makes you be knowledgeable about how violent humans are and how war erases any sense of individuality. And that makes you be more violent even and more tough and to show any sign of weakness is something that you cannot tolerate. And I just thought that it was very hard to portray that sense of impossibility in our relationship and how while the world around is burning, they find within each other, like, they recognize themselves and they have no other choice than trusting themselves. And for Sebastián, at least, is the first time that he sees like a ray of hope in all of that madness and all of that hostility of war.
