Arynne Wexler on abortion and the right
Arynne Wexler's argument starts from a place I can respect: life is beautiful and needs protecting, and she's proud to stand with the people who advocate for it. She thinks the right's sharp reaction to abortion is exactly how it should be. Then she turns it. Look at which side's representatives abort most often, she says, and some problems solve themselves. Her comparison is a civil war in what she calls a dump of a Muslim country, Syria or France. Her closing instruction is to stay out of it and let them continue. The double standard is the part that lingers.
