Ryan Grim on a second Iran war
Why would a second round against Iran go any better? That's the question Ryan Grim puts on the table, and his case for skepticism rests on how much has changed since the first war. Crude runs about $50 more per barrel, borrowing costs have surged, and enormous amounts of ammunition are already spent. American carriers, meanwhile, have to operate farther from Iranian threats, which pushes the military toward firing missiles that cost millions at drones costing far less. The earlier war, as Grim frames it, at least began with cheaper oil, fuller stockpiles and a better-prepared military. ryangrim, founder of Drop Site News, isn't selling optimism here.
