Charlie Kirk case trial date delay

    by Flint: Tyler Robinson

Three more years is the ask from Tyler Robinson's side, stacked on the year they've already burned, and that lands the murder trial in 2029 for a killing that happened in 2025. Prosecutors say October 2027 is when they're ready. Erika Kirk's attorney had one word for the defense schedule: "absurd." Meanwhile Utah Judge Tony Graf took in three hours of argument Friday and set no trial date at all, kicking his call to November 9. The worry is his track record here, that he'll split it and hand over about two more years anyway. A year of evidence-gathering is already in the bank and the request is still more time. Judge really needs to do something about this

down under the proposed schedule of the defense. And, Joshua, I mean, we can put up the calendar. I mean, September of 2025, the charging document filed. And here we are. It just keeps going and going. Yeah. Yeah. This recent request by the defense is absolutely ridiculous. They're asking for an additional three years to prepare for this trial. Bear in mind, they've already had a year. So it's not like we start the clock all over again. They've already had a year to gather the evidence, prepare themselves. Now they want an additional three years before they say they're ready to go to trial. The judge really needs to do something about this. My fear is that given his history on this case, he probably will split the baby and give them about two years additional. Well, that's still ridiculous.
