50 Cent on his UCLA bet
by Freddenver: 50 Cent
What I keep coming back to in 50 Cent's betting story is the losing part at the end. He says he fixed some of last year's mistakes and doesn't go crazy with it, but there are times he feels a team will lose and while he's betting they were losing around 12. That sits right next to the win: $100,000 on UCLA, $350,000 back in his money bag. The setup was a former pro bowler on staff telling him the team was on point and coming to win, plus another coach he knows who's a big fan of his. He calls it very inside information that made him feel very confident. Then he undercuts it himself, saying these are friends he talks to all the time and that doesn't mean you're going to win. The confidence and the caveat in the same breath is the realest piece of it.

I bet $100,000 and they gave me back, well, they had three and a half points for me. So it was like $350,000 and my money back. I see. OK. So you took the underdog. And why did you have a feeling? Was it SE? I looked. There was 4-0, UCLA. UCLA. OK. The coach had put something up. He's a big fan of mine. And he was playing music for their morale. But I know another one of the coaches, Mo Wilkinson, he was like a three-time pro bowler. And he's out there working the kids. He's like, yo, they are on point on point. Like, they're coming to win. Oh, you got some inside information. Yes, very inside. Information was like very inside. It made me feel confident. These are my friends, Jimmy. I'm talking to them all the time. And I'm like, that doesn't mean you're going to win, like when they say that. No, yeah. In fact, it usually means the opposite. Yeah. I just fixed some of the stuff, some of my mistakes for last year with that one. I see. So you're still maybe a little bit down? No, no, I'm in a good space because I don't go crazy. Like, every now and then I'll feel like they're gonna, like that's, I really, I was betting that they wouldn't lose by 12. I see. I'm hoping you didn't bet
