Jesse Ventura and Hasan on why people fear him

    by Silvestre: Hasan Piker

The part that stuck with me is Hasan saying the fear isn't about him at all, it's about democracy. Jesse Ventura had asked why people are so afraid of him, and that was the answer. Ventura's own read on it: say the name and it shakes the pillars of the community, and anyone who talks to him ends up cast out. Hasan's take on the reaction is that it comes from the movement he represents, not from him personally.

No need to panic, David. It's all good. Why are they so afraid of you? Why are they so afraid of me? I think they're not necessarily afraid of me. They're afraid of democracy. They say your name and it's like it shakes the pillars of the community. Yeah, I think it's because they are... And if someone talks to you, all of a sudden they're cast out? Yeah, yeah. Why? It's because of not me, but the movement that I represent. I think that's what they're afraid of. They're afraid of democracy. They're afraid of facing their voters. Okay, you got an audience that probably ain't overly familiar with me. Yes. So I want to get into how I am where I'm at. Okay. Are you familiar with what occurred to me after I left office? No, I'm not. What, after, so you were the governor, that's what you're talking about. I was the governor. Of this beautiful state that we're in. And I only did one term. Yeah.
