Speaker Johnson on faulty polls
by Flint: Mike Johnson
Three hands out of 300. That's what Speaker Johnson says he sees when he asks a room who's answered a poll in the last six months, and it's the whole reason he thinks the numbers are garbage. He says Republicans have stopped picking up, and he cites CNN running a story less than a week ago that 14 of the last 16 October polls in those races under-sampled Republicans by an average of 4 points. His read: all of them are off, the analysis underneath is faulty. So he's working the map instead, 21 states and 39 districts in the last three weeks, swing districts where blue seats can go red, hundreds turning out with 2024-level energy. And per the post, CNN said similar GOP polling errors in Senate races would easily put Republicans in the majority and flip Michigan, with the House possibly staying theirs too. None of it happens on its own. No complacency, straight red down the ballot, and more Trump 2024 voters showing up than the pollsters expect
