Global Firepower 2026 military rankings
by Writersroom Boardwalk: Info/Editorials
Global Firepower 2026 has China at the head of the active personnel table, 2.04M strong, with India next at 1.43M. Then it tightens up: the United States third at 1.33M, Russia fourth at 1.32M, North Korea fifth at 1.32M, basically a rounding call between those two. Ukraine sixth with 900K, Pakistan seventh at 660K, Iran eighth at 610K, Ethiopia ninth at 503K, and Türkiye fills the tenth slot at 481K. Tanks tell a similar story at the top. China first with 5.9K, Russia second at 5.6K, North Korea third at 4.9K, the United States fourth at 4.7K, India fifth at 3.9K. Egypt sixth at 3.6K, then Pakistan seventh and Iran eighth both at 2.7K, Türkiye ninth at 2.3K, Vietnam tenth at 2.0K. That's two of the four categories the ranking covers. The rest of the breakdown lives in the graphic, and everything traces back to Global Firepower 2026.
