The detail I keep thinking about from I PLAY ROCKY is AnnaSophia Robb bringing a camera to set, same as real-life Sasha Czack did on ROCKY. She called it her physical grounding. Plenty of beautiful photos of the whole cast came out of it, and she said it was also a way to center Anthony Ippolito.

I shot on the Minolta 65 all throughout the shoot, the camera that she used. And so that was sort of my physical grounding. And I have a lot of beautiful photos of the whole cast. And it was also a way to center Anthony because I was physically focusing and trying to put my energy on capturing the moment being really present. And Sly wrote me a note that was passed along to me about both of them, their marriage being like rocks, leaning together, that she was sunshine. And so it was like really tangible things that I was trying to bring in.
