Volkanovski on retiring after third title shot

    Retirement is on the table for Alexander Volkanovski if the UFC gives him a third shot at the lightweight title, win or lose. Then the plan is to vacate so the division isn't held up. His reasoning: if he wins and gives up the belt, everyone else is still fighting anyway. Otherwise, he's just taking each fight as it comes. #AlexanderVolkanovski

    That's something I would retire for. So if they wanted to give me that opportunity, I would retire, like win or lose, retire, and then it's vacate. So I'm not holding the division up. Then you're going to get the, if I win it and I vacate, right, then you've got everyone else fighting anyway. So that's something I would retire for. Otherwise, I'm just fighting, taking each fight as it goes.
