Algieri on Navarrete vs Foster timing

    by Yamanaka: Chris Algieri

Chris Algieri is wondering if this Navarrete-Foster fight comes down to timing more than anything. Foster, to him, is a champ who keeps climbing and sharpening up. Navarrete is the question mark: older, longer in the tooth, and making that weight once more could be an issue. Algieri owned up to doubting Foster against Dogbo and being wrong, and that run is where people learned who Navarrete is. Still, he expects a fantastic fight and is watching as a fan, no money on it.

I think Oshaki Foster is an improving, ascending champion. When he fought Dogbo, I was like, nah, I mean, Dogbo's the man right now. That's when Navarrete bursts onto the scene. And I was wrong. I was very wrong. And I thought that, you know, that was when we got to know who Navarrete is. I just think it's a timing thing. I think Oshaki Foster is an improving, ascending champion. And Navarrete, who, you know, he's got a little older, a little longer in the tooth, you know, trying to make this weight once again. Could be an issue. Regardless, I guess it's going to be a fantastic fight. I'm going to be watching as a fan more than anything. I'm not betting any money on this fight. I'm watching it. I'm going to enjoy it.
