AI coding better than most programmers
The warning shots keep landing louder and we keep shrugging. A couple years back engineers laughed off the idea that AI would get this good at writing code. Now the frontier models come out of the box ahead of nearly every programmer on the planet, the vast majority of them. We just don't do exponentials as humans, that's the flaw we're stuck with while several forces stack up at once. Feels like December of 2019 all over again, a warning shot pointed at something bigger that won't slow down, only speed up

This kind of feels reminiscent of, I remember first hearing about COVID, like a warning shot, like December of 2019. And so I got a warning shot in like December. And that's what this feels like to me. It feels like the warning shot towards something else that will be bigger. Yeah. Yeah, dude. I totally agree. It's like, because the thing is, it's like, this isn't going to slow down. No. Like the opposite. We're really bad at grasping exponentials as human beings. it's one of our fundamental flaws in the current environment because there are multiple converging forces that are all seemingly exponential and so we're and that's also the issue that i had when i was talking to engineers about ai development like two or three years ago they were like so ignorant to how good this shit's gonna get and i would say right now man they're better it's better out of the box on these frontier models than like almost every programmer on the planet the vast majority dude the vast majority we talk about how the internet is messing with all of us all the time so if you're into that kind of thing definitely hit follow
