Description: What seals the clock tower payoff in BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) isn't the lightning or the DeLorean blinking out of sight. It's the silence. The score cuts right as the car disappears, and Christopher Lloyd's frozen face does the rest, carrying the impossible moment far better than a line of dialogue ever could. Perfectly engineered, start to finish.
