Hasan on Crooked Con skipping him
by Silvestre: Hasan Piker
The Pod Johns catch flak just for working with Hasan, and Crooked Con leaving him off the guest list this year tracks with that. He says social pressure is what did it, and that advertisers and corporations will get targeted too. That Mike Rogers line fits the mood. The bigger the franchise, the more hires and the more sponsorship need, which is why he leans on voluntary subscriptions to stay independent.

And that is part of the reason why when, you know, Crooked Con invites me to Washington, D.C., that's a major blow, right? How dare you bring this outsider into our social circles? That is the response because it's crazy the way that they treat the Podjohns for, you know, collaborating with me, cooperating with me, because they have to maintain this echo chamber. you're bringing a fox into the hen house when you bring someone like myself into these circles right and of course cricket con didn't invite me this year they didn't because that kind of social pressure works it's not just social pressure they will uh they will obviously uh also target advertisers and corporations and the larger your franchise grows the larger your franchise grows, the more people that you hire, the more people that you need to be responsible for, the more there is a need for corporate sponsorships, right? The entire system is designed around the needs of corporations. Advertisement is one way to maintain the permission structure that we're talking about. Okay? Now that I notice you rarely have sponsors, I don't. I maintain my editorial independence through a voluntary subscription service.
