Dalton Knecht Brett Siegel Wizards
by Yetundejones: Anthony Davis
Brett Siegel via Clutch Scoops thinks Dalton Knecht signs a two-way contract within one to two weeks, pointing to the Washington Wizards as a route. The logic comes from Jameer Watkins tearing an ACL in Summer League after being a second-round pick in the 2025 draft, meaning he misses the whole 2026-27 season and could get waived for someone else. That spot fits because Dalton Knecht already has a strong relationship with Anthony Davis dating back to their Lakers days, where Davis held high regard for him since his rookie year.

Within the next week or two, you're going to see Don Connect sign with the team on a two-way contract. And I'm just going to throw this out there, Tamar, not that I'm reporting or have heard anything here. Just I'm looking at some of these teams of maybe there is a team that looks to wave somebody and bring in Don Connect. I think that the Washington Wizards are a very interesting team to keep an eye on here because they have Jameer Watkins. He was a second-round pick for them in last year's draft, the 2025 draft. But he tore his ACL in Summer League, and he's going to miss the entire 2026-27 season. Do they keep him on a two-way contract to reserve his rights, or do they look to maybe waive him and bring in somebody else? I think that that's something interesting to monitor because Don Connect already has a strong relationship with Anthony Davis, dating back to their days with the Lakers. Davis always talked about how he was very high on him as a rookie, and he would always look for him in the preseason early on in his career, and he felt like any time Don Connect would shoot, the ball was going to go in. So just something to keep an eye on there. I think that if one of those three teams with an open two-way spot doesn't sign Don Connect, Washington could be an interesting route there.
