Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat debut Brett Siegel
by Yutaofficial: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Brett Siegel is calling out the Miami Heat after Giannis Antetokounmpo's debut. Yeah, he put up 35 points with six rebounds and three turnovers, but his team got smacked by the Minnesota Timberwolves by a 25-point margin. The defensive effort just wasn't there after halftime, leading to questions about whether this is just 'Bucks 2.0' where Giannis does all the creating while others stand around. They lack other players who can create shots or be reliable shooters, so it looks like he has to carry everything. This outcome illustrates exactly why Antetokounmpo wanted out of Milwaukee; he needed a competitive team with teammates who could score independently.

Negative light, I have to say Giannis Antetokounmpo's debut. Obviously, he had 35 points, 6 rebounds, 3 turnovers, but his team lost by 25 in a game that, quite honestly, they lost by more than 30 points. They got absolutely smacked by the Minnesota Timberwolves in this one. Their defensive effort was not there after halftime. And quite honestly, it was the question that I keep asking about all these Giannis teams. Is it just the Bucs 2.0 and Giannis' hero ball where he has it and basically everybody get out of the way on offense. Giannis is going to be our offense, and they don't have anybody else that can create shots for themselves or be a knockdown shooter. So that's where my concerns lie right now with the Miami Heat. Again, it's just game one. It's an overreaction, but I just can't help think about over the last few years, this is exactly the reason why Giannis wanted out of Milwaukee. He wanted a team that was going to be competitive and guys around him that could score at will. That's not really happening.
