NFT permanence vs Sony digital games

    by Gigliola: Tech

Almost nobody realizes a proper NFT can't be pulled from your library. That's the part people miss. Meanwhile Sony is catching heat from gamers over digital-only titles that can vanish, and the NFT hate mostly traces back to wallets that took a hit. Wild how the permanence angle never comes up lol

Fred says, I never felt like NFTs would last for the same reason that people are pissed at Sony for moving away from physical PlayStation games. Is it the fact that they're moving away from that or the fact they don't own it? For the same reason I prefer physical gold over digital, right? So it's partially that, but a lot of it is also the fact that they know it can be turned off, right? Whereas an NFT, when done correctly, you can't just turn it off. You could move it somewhere else and use it there. Fred says, I think it's perception at the end of the day. Maybe NFT can't be turned off, but I didn't know that was the case until you just said it. Right. I think that's the vast majority of people. I think that's like 99% of people on the planet, dude. It'll have to be through something that they really like, right? Like all this tech, as it gets rolled out, blockchain, NFTs, all these different things that we talk about all the time. No one cares until it makes their life better. Right. So let's think about why do people hate NFTs? Because most people, it made their life worse. Right. They got burned, right? So of course you're going to hate it until it makes your life better. If you're still into NFTs, you should definitely follow us because we talk about JPEGs more than we probably should.
