Losing the election might not just cost Netanyahu the job. Per the quote going around, "If he loses this election he could very well go to jail." That's the backdrop to the betting markets, which have Eisenkot at 53% and Netanyahu at 27%. Trump's endorsement gave him a one day bump before things slid back to where they were, and the worry being floated is that a prime minister staring at defeat goes after Iran, pulls a response, and leans on the emergency to push the October 27 election. So the question hanging over all of it is whether he'd turn around and surprise the president who just backed him.
