Al Pacino on set with Christopher Nolan
by Capucine · old hollywood: Christopher Nolan
During the 2002 production of Insomnia, Christopher Nolan attempted to offer acting guidance to Al Pacino. Pacino responded that he had already handled the suggestion while reviewing daily footage. He noted the result was invisible to the naked eye but present in the dailies. Nolan checked the footage himself and confirmed Pacino's accuracy. #ChristopherNolan

You're trying to impress me, Vince. Because you got the wrong guy. Killing that girl made you feel special. But you're not. You're the same distorted, pathetic freak I've been dealing with for 30 years. You know how many of you I caught with your pants down? I never touched her like that. You wanted to. Now you wish you had. Hmm? Best you could do it. Clipper nails. Now you're so different. You don't get it, do you, Finch? You're my job. You're what I'm paid to do. You're about as mysterious to me as a block toilet is to a fucking plumber. Reasons for doing what you did. Who gives a fuck? Motivations of everything, Will.
